This is the place for the news from our Women's team

The stories are from across the Super News Network

Wolfsburg 5 - 2 United

We came into this one on the back of three solid wins this term, having already put Valerenga, Atletico Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain to the sword. But sadly, our winning run on the continent hit a bump, as the Reds were undone despite a brilliant start from Fridolina Rolfo against her old club.

United 2 - 1 PSG

Three wins from three for Marc Skinner's side in the league phase of the Champions League.

United 0 - 1 Aston Villa

Manchester United Women fell to our first defeat of the WSL season as Miri Taylor’s first-half strike earned Aston Villa a determined victory at Leigh Sports Village. The visitors took the lead in the 35th minute when Taylor volleyed in after Phallon Tullis-Joyce failed to deal with a corner, and despite plenty of possession, we couldn’t find a way through their organised defence.

It was a frustrating afternoon, with Ella Toone denied by a superb block from Anna Patten and Rachel Williams seeing two late headers saved by Sabrina D’Angelo. The result leaves us third in the table, three points behind leaders Chelsea, while Villa climb to sixth after picking up their second win of the campaign.

Atlético Madrid 0 - 1 United

Dare we say it, an almost proper United European performance from Marc Skinner's side.

United 1 - 0 Valerenga

We kicked off our first ever Women’s Champions League campaign in perfect fashion with a win over Valerenga. Maya Le Tissier coolly converted from the penalty spot in the first half to score our first ever goal in the competition, excluding qualifiers, sealing the win after a strong and confident display from Skinner’s side.

United 1 - 1 Chelsea

Marc Skinner's side have now drawn with Arsenal and Chelsea this season. This feels like a sign of progress. They had taken just one point from their previous 11 league meetings with Chelsea, but fully earned a second thanks to Anna Sandberg’s outstanding volley which cancelled out Wieke Kaptein’s early strike.
