Liverpool 2 - 2 United
The best performance under Ruben Amorim as we get a hard-fought point at Anfield

Serious limbs in that away end |
We went in level at half-time, but the second half was where things really sparked into life. Lisandro Martinez broke the deadlock with an absolute thunderbolt into the top corner that any striker would dream of scoring. But our joy didn’t last long, as Cody Gakpo levelled things up soon after.
It looked like it was slipping away when Matthijs de Ligt was harshly done for handball and Salah tucked away the penalty. Still, Amad came to the rescue late on, turning in Garnacho’s low cross.
There was still plenty of late drama as Bruno Fernandes nearly caught Alisson off guard with a clever effort straight from a quick corner, before Virgil van Dijk forced a sharp save from Onana at the other end.
United had one final chance to nick it in the 97th minute when substitute Joshua Zirkzee laid the ball off to Maguire, but the defender’s shot sailed just over after an awkward bounce in front of him.
At full-though, United fans sung for their players. After some dreadful performances over the festive period, including the defeat over Newcastle, this was welcomed. They now need to display this commitment every game.

That almost felt like proper United | Best fan reaction
Liam C: We need courage, intensity and aggression, plus a touch of individual brilliance like that. That’s the United playing style we all recognise.
Mohamed: What I love about Ruben Amorim is that he sticks to his plan no matter what. He said from the start that we would suffer in the first season, but he would not sacrifice his philosophy for quick success. You can already see a team with a clear identity.
Brian: Even though it ended in a draw, that performance from United made me proud to be a fan today. That almost felt like proper United.
Hendrick: This game looked and felt like the Man United we all grew up watching. It brought back great memories.
