After a promising first 15 minutes, we fell back into familiar struggles. There was no passion, no style, no determination, just a chaotic display of hope over substance. Some players do not deserve to start, and it feels like another wasted transfer window. The reality is that we are a middling side with little sign of improvement in the near future. Final point, what was Dalot doing there?

Is it just me, or do we lack wide players capable of delivering a decent cross? It seems they would rather pass backwards than attempt a first-time delivery. The forwards are left to struggle as a result.

The performance shown against Arsenal was absent against Fulham. While the first half offered some promise, Fulham were fully deserving of at least a draw. Based on this display, it is hard to see us finishing higher than 10th this season.

Even before considering Bruno Fernandes’ inexplicably missed penalty in the 38th minute, United were ahead at Craven Cottage, a ground where they had previously won eight consecutive matches, by the 58th minute. The expectation in such a situation is to see the game out and secure the victory, even if the match starts to turn against you. That is what strong, or at least improving, teams do.

Those tactics need urgent attention. Fernandes is being left isolated in the pivot alongside the shadow of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte, while Kobbie Mainoo has yet to feature this season, apparently because he is considered only as direct competition for Fernandes’ position.
