United React | Reds talk about a memorable day at Anfield

A wonderful Sunday afternoon in Merseyside

It was great catching up United fans who watched the game from the away end or on TVs across the world.

Tom: What a performance from United. We had chances in the first half, and then Maguire did what he does best. Backs to the wall in the second half, but what a massive result.

Ryan: Class win that. Exactly what we needed. Defended properly and some top displays from Cunha, Mbeumo and Amad. Hard to say if this is the start of a real turnaround, but we finally look like we can score again. Play was scrappy at times, but who cares? Let’s enjoy it.

Frank: Been following United for 70 years and thought I’d seen it all. Got my first ever hole-in-one on Sunday morning and then this result topped it off. Brilliant stuff. They made a 78-year-old fan very proud. Never give up, lads.

Andy: Maguire’s been written off more times than I can count, but he’s stuck at it and now he’s showing why he deserves to wear the shirt. Fair play to him. Big result for United.

Pete Shaw: I’m delighted we beat Liverpool, but now I want to see wins against Brighton and a struggling Forest as evidence of progress. We’ve shown we can sit deep and counter against sides who, on paper, are stronger than us. Now it’s time to prove we can beat the teams we should be overcoming.

Liam C: What a day. It was amazing to be in that away end. Wonderful atmosphere at the end (see video below from Super News Affiliate).

Steve: Liverpool might have hit the post three times, but we could easily have been three up before that. Other than the last 20 minutes where we sat too deep, we were the better side. Our keeper barely had anything to do. Deserved win.

Neil: That was a proper United performance. Grit, effort, and everyone fighting for the badge. Still a long way to go, but this was a big step in the right direction.
