United secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Atlético Madrid in the Women's Champions League, with Fridolina Rolfo scoring her first goal for the club to settle a tense contest. Marc Skinner’s side showed resilience after Dominique Janssen was sent off just before half-time following a VAR review, forcing United to navigate the second half with ten players.

Defended admirably, winning six of her seven tackles to help preserve United’s shape.

Unlucky to be sent off in the first half. Had been solid both in and out of possession up to that point.

Competent in her ground duels with the lively Luany but was caught out at times when the winger spun away, leaving her scrambling to regain position.

Delivered an all-round effective performance, combining quality in possession with defensive solidity and stepping in reliably at centre-back to help United see out the final minutes of the first half.

Hinata Miyazawa | 7/10

Worked hard defensively, particularly in the second half when United faced sustained pressure.

Ella Toone | 7/10

One of United’s liveliest players before being substituted at the break as the team adjusted to the red card. This was her 200th appearance for the club and this win was a fantastic to mark the occasion. A great servant for the club.

Melvine Malard | 6/10

Should have extended United’s lead both before and after Janssen’s dismissal. Contributed defensively but could have done more to hold the ball and ease pressure on the back line.

Elisabeth Terland | 6/10

Worked hard in build-up play and contributed effectively before being substituted at the break as Skinner reshaped the side.

Fridolina Rolfo | 7/10

Opened the scoring with a terrific goal and demonstrated intelligence as a left-back, providing solid defensive support to Sandberg.

Each of the substitutes were able to contribute enough to help United see the game and claim a vital three points.

Filled in at centre-back after Janssen’s red card. Showed some rustiness due to limited minutes since injury but performed solidly overall.

Effective in possession and offered plenty of attacking support, exactly what United needed.

Continued her comeback from injury after coming on just past the hour. Her driving runs often relieved pressure on United’s defence, and her tracking back was exceptional.
