Plenty of United players are set to represent their countries one last time this year.

Matthijs de Ligt has been rewarded for his superb form with a recall to the Netherlands squad. The defender’s late equaliser at Spurs secured a 2-2 draw and stretched United’s unbeaten run to five matches heading into the break. Ronald Koeman’s side will be looking to confirm their World Cup spot with games against Poland and Lithuania.
Benjamin Sesko was named in Slovenia’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers but has not reported after picking up an injury against Spurs. The striker came on from the bench but could not see out the game.
Meanwhile, Patrick Dorgu is preparing for Denmark’s qualifiers against Belarus and Scotland. Diogo Dalot is part of Portugal’s squad to face Ireland and Armenia, while Bruno Fernandes is suspended for the Dublin clash but is expected to return for the home match at Porto’s Estádio do Dragão.
In goal, Senne Lammens and Altay Bayındır have both joined up with Belgium and Turkey, respectively. Lammens’ call-up comes as Thibaut Courtois withdraws through injury.
Leny Yoro is back with the France Under-21s as they take on their Switzerland and Faroe Islands counterparts.
Outside of Europe
Amad has been named in the 25-man Ivory Coast squad for matches against Saudi Arabia and Oman. Noussair Mazraoui is with Morocco as they play friendlies against Mozambique and Uganda.
Bryan Mbeumo is set for a key World Cup play-off with Cameroon against DR Congo.
Diego Leon will be looking for more minutes with Paraguay after making his debut last month. They continue their World Cup preparations with friendlies against the USA and Mexico. Manuel Ugarte’s Uruguay face the same opponents in reverse order.
Lisandro Martínez will continue training with Argentina as he steps up his recovery, though he will not feature in their friendly against Angola on Friday. Casemiro, who came off during the Spurs match, has still linked up with Brazil for their friendlies in Europe, where Matheus Cunha is also included. Brazil take on Senegal at the Emirates before facing Tunisia in Lille.
