Current team news and form
Matheus Cunha, Harry Maguire and Benjamin Sesko were all missing for that grim defeat to David Moyes’s side, with injuries keeping the trio out. We are now waiting for Amorim to give the latest update when he next faces the press.
Sesko’s setback in the 2-2 draw with Spurs has ruled him out for a few weeks, while Maguire has not shaken off the knock he picked up in north London. Cunha’s issue in training is not believed to be too serious, but it was enough to keep him out on Monday night.
Lisandro Martinez was back in the squad against Everton but did not get on, and the same goes for Academy talent Shea Lacey. Casemiro and Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu are both walking a tightrope after collecting four league bookings this season, meaning one more caution would trigger a suspension.
Following three successive wins, we have not win in the last three (two draws and one defeat) and we need to get back to winning ways before pressure starts to build on Ruben Amorim again.

A quick look at the opposition
Palace will not make life easy for Amorim and his players. They have only been beaten twice in the league this season, and they are playing with real confidence. Even so, this match comes barely 72 hours after their UEFA Conference League trip to Strasbourg, which could leave them a touch leggy when they arrive at Old Trafford.
History between us and them
On last season's trip to Crystal Palace, it was a draw in a match that we dominated for the majority and should have taken the three points. The writing started to be on the wall for Erik Ten Hag at that point. In the home match. Palace eased to a comfortable 2-0 win at a point in the season when attention started to turn towards the Europa League run.
We are chasing our first win over Palace since February 2023, when Bruno Fernandes tucked away a penalty and Marcus Rashford finished the job against Patrick Vieira’s side. Rashford was on target as well the last time we came away from Selhurst Park with three points, back in July 2020.
Perhaps our most memorable trip to Selhurst Park came in 1995. A certain Eric Cantona got into some trouble that night.
We have also faced them in the FA Cup final twice. In 1990 when we came out on top after winning a replay. Twenty-six years later, we faced them again when a late goal from Jesse Lingard brought us glory at Wembley.
