United fans and playera celebrate

Bruno Fernandes set us on our way midway through the first half, bundling the ball home after a bit of pinball in the box. Wolves pulled level right on the stroke of half time through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, a frustrating blow after we had controlled most of the opening 45.

After the break, though, Ruben Amorim’s side found another gear. Bryan Mbeumo struck to restore the lead, Mason Mount added a smart finish, and Bruno rounded things off to cap a performance that felt assured from front to back.

The victory lifts United into sixth place, and with momentum finally building, all eyes now shift to Bournemouth’s visit to Old Trafford.

Mason Mount making his mark again

Mason Mount’s latest strike takes him to three goals in his last four starts and you can really see him growing into his role at United. This is the kind of steady impact many hoped for when he arrived from Chelsea for £55m back in 2023, only for injuries to slow his rhythm.

His form also gives Ruben Amorim some welcome flexibility at a time when Benjamin Sesko is sidelined and Bryan Mbeumo is due to head off in the near future. Mount stepping up now feels like perfect timing for a squad that needs every option it can get.

After the match, Mount told the press: ""It was an important win for us. Obviously, first half we let them back in it before half-time and we go into the changing room frustrated and disappointed with the end to the first half. The manager had a few things to say and we come out there and it was down to us to attack with purpose and finish our chances we were creating."
