United Review | Chelsea away

Chelsea 0 - 1 United

We bounced back from Monday’s home defeat to Leeds with a massive three points away at Chelsea.

With key defenders missing through injury and suspension, a makeshift backline stood tall, digging in after Matheus Cunha’s strike just before the break.

The result leaves us 10 points clear of the Blues and edging ever closer to confirming a top-five finish.

Bruno Fernandes notched his 18th assist of the season, putting him within two of the single-season record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

It also makes it eight wins from 12 Premier League games under Michael Carrick, and this one could prove to be the biggest yet.

Some interesting stats

Matheus Cunha has been directly involved in 10 Premier League goals this season. He’s the 5th Manchester United player to reach double digits. This is definitely a great start to his United career.

Bruno Fernandes has now provided 18 assists in the Premier League this season. Throughout the history of the Premier League, only Ozil, De Bruyne and Henry have ever recorded more in a single campaign. Could Bruno beat that record? Our captain has also become the fourth player to reach 10 assists in Premier League away games in a season.

After this important win, we have gained more Premier League points in 2026 (28) than any other team. A good achievement and something we have struggled with since our long unbeaten away run ended under Ole in 2021.
