With third place secured and Champions League football achieved for next season, there is still plenty for the players to prove heading into the summer.
The newly announced permanent manager Carrick also hinted that a few younger players could get an opportunity against Brighton, which will excite supporters keen to see what is coming through the academy.
The boss praised the attitude of the squad during his spell in charge, with United picking up some huge results in recent weeks to turn the season around. Carrick’s impact has been massive and the mood around the club feels completely different compared to earlier in the campaign.
Brighton still have European qualification to fight for, so it will not be an easy afternoon on the south coast, but United fans will be hoping the team can finish the season with another statement performance before attention turns to the summer rebuild.

The Brazil international said his farewells to Old Trafford last weekend, which proved an emotional occasion, as the final whistle blew on his Reds career. Carrick confirmed he wouldn't be in the squad at The Amex.
Case had been substituted to a standing ovation during the 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, his 160th appearance for the club since joining from Real Madrid in 2022.
