Tchouameni linked with United as Real Madrid open door to summer sale
Would this be a good signing?

Manchester United have been handed a potential boost in their search for a new midfielder, with reports claiming Real Madrid are willing to sell Aurélien Tchouameni this summer for around £77m.
The France international is said to be attracting interest from several clubs, with United among those keeping a close eye on the situation. While the fee would still represent a major investment, it is lower than the overall package of around €100m that Madrid paid Monaco to sign him in 2022.
The prospect of Real Madrid letting Tchouameni leave is a surprise. He was signed as the long-term successor to Casemiro and chose a move to the Bernabéu ahead of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, underlining both his ambition and Madrid's pulling power.

Now, with Tchouameni still only 25 and under contract until 2028, Madrid appear open to offers. Increased competition from Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde is believed to have changed the club's thinking, potentially giving United the chance to make a move for one of Europe's top defensive midfielders.
United have made strengthening the midfield their top priority this summer
Tchouameni fits the profile many fans feel the squad has been missing since Casemiro's performances began to decline over the past 18 months. The Frenchman is a powerful, disciplined holding midfielder who shields the defence, wins the ball back and is comfortable in possession. His ability to fill in at centre-back also gives managers an extra tactical option when injuries hit.
With Éderson's move to Old Trafford reportedly close to being completed, United's midfield rebuild is already gathering pace. However, the Brazilian brings different qualities. Éderson thrives on driving forward with the ball and injecting energy into midfield, while Tchouameni is all about defensive stability, positioning and control. The pair could complement each other well, although spending around £77m on Tchouameni after completing the Éderson deal would represent a huge investment and could push the limits of what INEOS are prepared to spend in one transfer window.
