A disappointing way to end pre-season but some more minutes for key players

We took an early lead at the Tarczynski Arena in Poland, with Harry Maguire heading home after just two minutes. AC Milan, managed by former United boss Ruben Amorim, hit back later in the first half when Samuel Chukwueze tapped in from close range.

United regained the advantage after the break when Patrick Dorgu pounced on a mistake in the Milan defence, only for Alphadjo Cisse to level once again.

Milan then edged ahead through a Goncalo Ramos header before Ruben Loftus-Cheek made sure of the win, lifting the ball over Senne Lammens and into the near post,

There were plenty of positives to take from the second half

Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford all getting their first pre-season minutes. Rashford was the last of our players to return from this summer's FIFA World Cup.

Captain Bruno Fernandes and new signing Youri Tielemans both completed the full 90 minutes on their first United starts of the summer. Lammens, Maguire and Luke Shaw also played the entire Tour 2026 contest, presented by Snapdragon, with the Premier League opener away to Hull City now just a week away.
