Gareth Southgate, Oliver Glasner and Michael Carrick are among those linked with the Manchester United job should the club decide to dismiss Rúben Amorim.

According to the Spanish media outlets, Xavi is also under consideration, with the former Barcelona coach said to be open to starting a new chapter in the Premier League.

One media source says: "The Old Trafford board will have to make a decision soon: whether to stick with Rúben Amorim until the end of the season or make a U-turn and entrust Xavi Hernández as the new leader of the project."

His managerial career so far

After retiring as a player, Xavi moved into management and took charge of Al Sadd in May 2019, winning seven trophies in less than three years. He returned to Barcelona in November 2021, guiding his former club to the 2023 Supercopa de España and the 2022–23 La Liga title in his first full season in charge.

In May 2024 he was dismissed by president Joan Laporta and replaced by Hansi Flick. Since then he has remained out of work. Could Old Trafford be his next destination?
