Robbie: Small adjustments made a big difference. It is also refreshing to finally have a goalkeeper who looks assured and understands his role. If Matheus Cunha can find his rhythm, a top-five finish might just be possible.

Jamie F: Mason Mount was superb. Even with all those injuries, I always said he would have a key role for us, and I’m glad to have been proven correct.

Ken: It was a great day. Really good performances from Mbeumo, Sesko and Mason Mount. I was also really impressed with the flags and atmosphere in the Stretford. Well done to TRA, this really adds to the occasion of matches.

Bryan: Any win is a good win. The performance was improved overall, though we still surrender possession far too easily in midfield, leaving players out of position and inviting pressure. It is baffling that we do not play more aerial balls into the box given we now have a 6ft 5in centre forward. That said, the passing was sharper and the deliveries more threatening. There is room to improve, but it is a step forward.

Pat: A very strong showing from the team, with sharp pressing and confident passing. Benjamin Sesko was outstanding, and Senne Lammens justified his inclusion with an impressive debut. Ruben Amorim’s substitutions were questionable as ever, though fortunately they did not alter the outcome. What the side needs now is consistency to turn performances into sustained results.

Sammy: A much-needed victory, but how many times have we seen this pattern from United? They drift into mediocrity, come under fire from all directions, then produce just enough to grind out a win. Amorim is not the right man for the job, in my view, and this squad feels a far cry from what a Manchester United team should represent.
